There had been many people in my life who have influenced me in a positive way. I have been very privileged in my lifetime to have motivating teachers and kind, caring friends who support me when I needed it. That being said, out of all the people I have encountered, the person I admire most is my dad.
Being
the only girl in the family, I have always been ‘daddy’s girl’. My relationship
with my dad was something I thought all girls had the opportunity to have but
over the years, I have realized that many children have no father-like figure
in their life. This made me really appreciate my dad’s presence.
Throughout
all of my life’s bumps, obstacles and mountains, my dad has been my supporter.
He is always cheering me up no matter what happens. For example, when I was
struggling with stress, anger, pain and having problems with my friends, my dad
is always there for me. He just sat there and listened to all my
ramblings. He didn’t say anything until
I was finished. When I did, he took all of my problems apart piece by piece
until we found my true heart problem. He has always provided me a safe place to
land and a hard place from which to launch. Also, he let me make my own
decision even if he knows I am going to fail. He always said, ‘it is better to
learn under my roof the on your own”. Even if I fail, my dad is there to
support me. He continues to help me in any way he can. He gave me the greatest
gift anyone could give to another person, he believed in me.
Through
our experiences together, I have learned to never take anything for granted, to
appreciate everyone and everything around me, to be nice and most importantly,
to stay strong and keep going even if it’s through a tough situation. He’s the
man who gave me his personality. I am the girl who is always smiling, happy and
worrying everyone else around me. I am the girl who helps people to stay strong
when they think that their world is crashing around them and I owe it all to my
dad. I have learned more lessons in life and I owe it all to my inspiration,
the best father I could ask for.
